The collapse of the metallic structure of the stage where Mother’s Day was to be celebrated in the Gustavo A. Madero municipality, CDMX, left seven people injured. According to local authorities, the causes of the collapse are attributed to the heavy rains and winds that exceeded 50 km/h.
In an improvised press conference by Mayor Janecarlo Lozano, it was reported that the victims, all employees of the organizing company, are out of danger. Despite the suspension of planned activities, it was confirmed that two of the injured were transferred to a hospital for medical attention.
"The event had not started. It was very early," the mayor said about the moment of the collapse, while the final checks were being carried out to enable the celebration. Additionally, the presence of singers Angela Carrasco, Alicia Villareal, and Ana Cirré was expected on the esplanade of the demarcation.
The local government anticipated that the Prosecutor's Office would continue investigating the responsibilities related to this incident. Despite the setbacks, it was emphasized that the victims are safe and there are no imminent risks to their health.
